Dopo Teatro East Italian Restaurant on East 62nd Street

Posted on 18:19 by Unknown
This is a really laid back little place on East 62nd Street between First and Second Avenues that is so demure that you could miss it very easily..

Today seems to be a day full of surprises as well as mysteries! So let's see what we can find out here...

Well, seems like they only opened last year but the reviews are all extremely favorable. Sounds like a great little intimate spot.

I love this restaurant, because its super cute and new, clean, the staff is really friendly, and they have a live pianist and singer on certain nights.  Its a very romantic atmosphere and prefect fora dates and to get to know someone because it's not loud.  Go enjoy it~

Food and service were very good, but bad mesquito problem.  It's a shame, because they have a beautiful garden and the doors open to the main dining room - gives a bit of an al fresco feel - However, the pests were abundant and feasting on us while we were trying to enjoy our meals!

The food is basic, and good for a neighborhood spot. It is not a place that I would rave about to my friends. We went with a group and they were completely accomodating and friendly. We had quite a lot of food and I was able to sample a handful of dishes. The food was fine, just nothing that excited me.

Newly opened just down the street from the famous Ritz Diner.  Food was fantastic and the service was great (although I wasn't sure our waiter understood what we were saying half the time).  The garden looks like it will be pretty awesome once it is open (open area with a ton of kitschy lanterns hanging down).  A really nice addition to the neighborhood that we will be checking out again soon.
