Design Within Reach--Flatiron

Posted on 17:37 by Unknown
I know Yelp'ers really liked the Upper West Side branch of this store..

Man on land line phone reminds us once again that businesses do not use cell phones...as of yet! (Except, I suppose, drug dealers).

Here we go--huh, must be a pretty new place, not a lot of reviews...and wow, what different takes we have here on the sales people in this store!! Did they go to the same store??

Great pieces, all original.  Amazing staff.  It was warm in there but I didn't want to leave.  A really great experience and lots of help!

Nice furniture, terrible service.  Went in last Saturday looking to buy some furniture.  There were ZERO other customers in the store, and none of the salespeople even looked up from their computers when I walked in.  I had to approach a salesperson who was totally disinterested until I made it clear that I was very interested in buying something.  Too little, too late.  I'll just get it off the website.

The staff was amazing, super helpful and very friendly. The price is a bit expensive, but rightfully so. For such a small store, the selection was actually quite large. I have my eyes set on a ceiling light that I will be coming back for!

This is where I come when I want to spend time sitting in and admiring the extreme comfort of Eero Saarinen's Womb Chair. On my last visit, the saleswoman showed us all the upholstery options for this charming chair - so many pretty colors of boucle and mohair!

One day it shall be mine!

Good luck finding service in this store. We there are 6:30 last night and the 2 sales people were too busy on their computers to even look up and say hello. I was there to buy some lamps and furniture. In this economy, I am not begging someone to take my money. If they give me service and sell to me, I will buy. We should all patronize businesses who want to sell to their customers. The days are over of clerks sitting at their desks waiting for customers to walk up and take their $$$.

    Great furniture and designs.

Product looks wonderful and the couches I sat on were really comfortable.

Service? The employees must have been able to tell we couldn't afford said product because we didn't get any. I guess I should be grateful they didn't guilt trip us until we left the store with our tails between our legs.

I guess the prices are fair? I'm assuming the product will last a long time. Maybe someday I'll have enough money to test my hypothesis.
