H&M Fifth Avenue

Posted on 16:56 by Unknown
I hear people mention H&M all the time as if it were the classic middle-of-the-road (and something of a bargain)--store...I was surprised to see they had this big Flagship place on Fifth Avenue, not all that far from Saks, etc.

Warning: some people find it a rushed, bargain basement kind of place with rude salespeople. Most don't mind this at all, it is the clothes they are after.

People like it...again, I wouldn't know from personal experience..but one more place to browse if you have the time to do some shopping  in Manhattan

I love this H&M, my friend and I were just planning to go to Uniqlo but instead passed here and went in "just to check it out". OMG!!! Three floor!!!

The third floor is literally SALE!!!!! Or how my friend says it, "SA-LOE"!

There is so much stuff to go through, we were in a rush, so I grab a white shirt/blouse for summer and she got two pairs of pants. The fitting rooms are huge, but the lighting is very dark, I think that is their method of making you look better in their mirrors so you can buy their merchandise haha.

The lines are long on the third floor, but quick!

Even though the shirt did not have a price tag, the manager was there and just give the cashier instructions on how to input certain numbers. They were very professional.

Will definitely come here again if in the area. Decided not to go to Uniqlo after all.

H&M clothes show a little more personality than Uniqlo. The prices are reasonable but the fashion, quality, and fit seem to be hit or miss. So far, I haven't bought anything from them.

At the moment, what stands out in my mind is a skirt with giant pineapple prints all over it - who thought this was a good idea?

Probably my favorite H&M in the city because I always find my size here whereas downtown they normally get sold out so quickly. Props to the cashier who dropped everything to help me find a specific dress after I searched the entire store for it. It was pretty busy and there was a line of people behind me (I probably would've been mad if I were them!) but I loved that he was so helpful and found my dress when I had about given up.

My favorite H&M location! It has 3 levels and all 3 levels are always full of items. The fitting rooms need better lighting and the store can definitely get chaotic, especially with tourists. But, there is so much to choose from and definitely has a better selection than other locations. The lines can be long and they move relatively quickly, but the cashiers can be a bit rude, like telling you how to work a credit card machine, as if you've never seen one. Otherwise, I love to shop here!

LOVE H&M, but I came her after 8pm, which was a mistake. Clothes were thrown all over the place. Everything was in disarray. I blame myself. I know better than to go into a clothing store after 12. Shame on me.

H&M is one of my favorite clothing stores, especially since they're located all over the US and Europe. This particular store, I used to frequent often when I was at my old job.

    Pros:

    - Location - It's on 5th avenue and there are a bunch of other stores & transportation nearby.

    - Price - You can find a ton of items on sale and for the most part, everything there is affordable.

    - Organization: This is one of their cleaner/organized stores and you will usually find everything in it's place.

    - Size - This is one of the bigger H&M locations with 3 or 4 floors, I believe.

    Cons:

    - Damaged items - I purchased a pair of jeans last year and the safety device was left on. On my last trip here, my friend wanted to purchase a specific blazer, but the only one left had pen marks on it.

-RUDE STAFF - They're either sending you upstairs due to their own lack of knowledge or giving you blatant attitude for the most part. Not sure why everyone is so rude here. It's my biggest pet peeve.

What do you say about H&M? I stopped in on my lunch break to try to find a pair of leopard flats. They had them on their website for $12.95. They had them in store and in my size but they just weren't what I was looking for so I passed.

Otherwise, the store was clean and displays well maintained.

I love this store they have a variety of clothing and prices..I always end up buying something at this H&M. The only thing I don't like is that it's always busy I guess it's because of the location allot of tourist..

This H&M is HUGE. And in a good location (around the corner from my job). I come here occasionally just to browse, as H&M is well known for constantly changing their inventory. They have 3 floors and TONS of selection. They have more here than any other H&M I have been to. Its really well organized: 1st Flr- more dressy/work appropriate clothing, 2nd flr- Kids and Mens Clothes, 3 flr- casual clothing and lingerie/accessories. I take my hat off to the staff for keeping the store so neat with lots of tourists.

First time I ever went through an ENTIRE sales transaction without a word being said! Lol. Literally...the sales girl did not say hi, did not say.. "sorry for the 30 minute line", or "your total is.." and yep..you guessed it, she did not say "thank you, have a nice day". lol. Literally... NO WORDS. The place still gets 3 stars simply because I found some amazing deals in here, lol. So to sum it up, love the selection and prices... Hate the long lines and rude sales people. But is it technically considered rude if you are just simply mute? Hmm... who knows.

I went here once while I was in town for business. I was impressed with the prices. $7 for a turtleneck? Yes, please!

It was hard to find something above a small, but, I was able to get what I needed and pay. I liked the girl that checked us out. She was nice.

Now, for the bad. Even though it's a huge store, it's crowded like crazy. But, what do you expect in an H&M in Manhattan? I try to be understanding about that. It's not their fault that they're a popular store.

If I'm ever back in town, I'll go back here!

Of all the H&Ms in NYC this is my favorite one. It's not a place where I'd buy all my wardrobe but for seasonal trends it's a cool place.
This is a large store, can be quite crowded, loud and a tourist magnet. The sales staff can be either helpful or not. It depends. None of that bothers me. I expect lots of tourists in NYC and I'm capable of helping myself.
The selection is good and I can always find something (usually more) cute.
The clothes are low priced as a whole and they won't last infinitely. They will get you through the season and with good care they'll go beyond.

I went their and was able to find a very nice blue V-neck T-shirt that was an XL with a trim cut. I wanted to try on two pairs of pants but the dressing rooms were closing for the evening. So I bought the shirt.
    Their is always next trip.
