Customers Have their say about J.C. Penney

Posted on 17:04 by Unknown
Well, we might as well see how the problems of J. C. Penney are (or are not) reflected in Yelp reviews...

Whatever other problems it is facing, NYC Yelper's like this store on the whole.. it is not a list of hate-o-grams such as we would find for Time Warner Cable, for instance, LOL

I was never a fan of large chain department stores, but this gem located in Manhattan Mall is a nice quick grab store. But the items here are limited. It's not Macy's.

If you know what you are looking for - great!
But I would never spend time browsing around looking for "something".

The sale reps are great and more than happy to assist you, but it's the lines that kill me.

I got a long spring dress last week for $50. It was a great price for the dress, but the lines at the fitting rooms were long and the lines for the cashier/check-out were long. I was on a 10 minute fitting room line and a 30 minute check-out line.

No ventilation here- worst place for ppl with allergies.

I ended up ordering a spring blazer online and shipped it for free to the store.
Picking it up at the store this mother's day weekend was a must better experience than last week.

Now that Daffy's is gone, this is the best place to buy reasonably priced men's wrinkle free button down shirts.  I don't know if Stafford is the store brand or they just carry a lot of their stuff here, but you can buy shirts for $15 that are suitable for work.

    That's a pretty good deal.

This store is great in comparison to the other department stores in the area (Macys & Kmart for ex.)

It is located inside Manhattan Mall and is quite easy to navigate once you get a hang of it! I really like this particular store because it is not over crowded, the staff is really helpful, they pretty much have everything/something for everyone, and at an affordable price (for the most part, look out for sales! they have tons!). I could honestly spend hours in here. They have these huge rolling shopping carts too....sheesh, talk about tempting.

This is an interesting JC Penney in that it sits kind of open in the center of the mall.  you just take an escalator down and land in the center of the store.  The selection seems better than at the JC Penneys I've been to in the past.  I was just browsing on this visit, but I think it's worth returning when I'm looking for clothes in the future.

Ok, maybe someone can help me understand. I make a purchase in Florida as part of the $5 panties for $25 deal. Why would I decide to pay additional money when I'm trying to conduct an even exchange. I wasted all that time searching for the panties I wanted  Sadly, I was met with a whole lot of confusion, precious time wasted, and wound up asking for a refund instead.

Small for a Penney's, but unique to the NYC market. It has a small Sephora inside as well - though JCP Sephora's don't always have the same deals and points as stand-alone locations. Prices are as to be expected with the brand - affordable, but not dirt cheap. Although the layout is a bit wonky (due to the design of the building) I really quite like this location.

JCP has a new sleeker, shinier, cleaner look and feel. It's more high tech and more preppy. Their only store in Manhattan covers two floors and features free wi-fi, Sephora, branded boutiques for Liz Claiborne, MNG by Mango, Levi's, Izod, etc. They just started carrying Joe Fresh, Cosabella and Georgina Chapman. Exciting new brands are on the way.

I think I prefer the look of the men's casual clothing - it's preppy. For women, the basics are affordable and decent looking but more hit or miss. Sometimes Mac + Jac and I Heart Ronson will have cute things but I Heart Ronson used to have more items. The Sephora boutique is small but it does carry Nars and Stila. It's always fun to poke around in there and try out various things.

I love this store!  First of all, it's never crowded.  Secondly, their prices are easy and span the spectrum.  If I want $6 tights?  Boom!  If I want a $12 top?  Boom!  If I want a gorgeous $250 floor length seemingly couture gown?  Boom!  There's even a Sephora inside the store.  Genius!

I hate shopping but when I have to this store is one of the first on my list.

I love this place. Super great deals at a fraction of what I would spend somewhere else. Bought A.N.A. Premium jeans and they look and feel just like my AG Jeans. Cost me $14 (on sale, reg $30) vs $198 at the AG store! Best thing is the slight stretch that my expensive jeans don't have.

The designer JC Penney apparel are sometimes good. Best to go to the store and try on since a Small by one designer can be dramatically different than others. A Worthington Dress sz Small hung like a size 12 on me, and I'm normally a 4/6.

Bottom line: great deals. Would be even better with coupons
