    Magnolia who?

I live right in between Sprinkles and Magnolia bakeries. Yes, I'm spoiled. But the difference between the two is night and day. Sprinkles, albeit a pretty large juggernaut itself in the handheld cake game, is a morsel I look forward to at all times. Magnolia... Not so much (outside of the banana pudding).

If I were you, I'd use up your calorie allotment here and let SJP's ragtag group of perpetually horny middle aged friends keep that other franchise afloat.

    The cupcakes are delicious.
I love cupcakes.....all cupcakes. So I needed the help of my not so sweet toothed hubby. He will take a cheez-it over a cupcake any day. He said it was the best cupcake he ever had (even better than my homemade).
My son normally licks off the icing then throws the cake away but not this time.... He ate the super moist delicious vanilla cake also.
We tried vanilla, coconut, red velvet, carrot and a chocolate. They were all winners!!
They are not super fancy with the decorations but they are cute.
They are pricey but it's not in some mall in Jersey!!
    Staff was friendly!
Place is small if you are gonna eat it there but we didn't care.

    Enjoy!!

On my most recent trip to New York, I saw that this establishment was very close to where my friend (who I was staying with) lived.  After reading the postivie reviews I was hoping for much more from this place.  I felt as if they were too sweet and the icing was too thick.  I like my cupcakes and the frosting to be light and fluffy and this was far from that.

I tried the Chai and another cupcake which was just as unmemorable.  All I remember thinking as I took my 2nd and 3rd bites is that I want this to stop - so I did and tossed them in the garbage.  I will admit, I felt guilty given the price tag, but I would have felt even worse eating them when I know there are better cupcakes out there.

Yum!! I LOVE Sprinkles cupcakes. It's hard to pick a favorite cupcake bakery in NYC, but Sprinkles is definitely in my top 3. Their cake is always so moist and flavorful and the frosting is also amazing. My favorite cupcakes are red velvet (omg so good!), banana/chocolate, dark chocolate, mocha, smores, carrot, basically all of them!

expensive, but not dumb-retahdead. i'd understand if someone said Crumbs were a better option in the area, but NOPE... not the truth!

every single time i've been here (it's been a lot... my company has a lot of birthdays to celebrate, ok???) to buy cupcakes, the counter girls are super helpful and nice. there hasn't been an instance where they scoffed at me or sucked their teeth because i asked for a weird request. (again, i buy a lot of cupcakes for co-worker's birthdays!)

their cupcakes are the best of midtown in my honest opinion. i've been a fan of them because i frequent L.A. often and was delighted to hear they opened up a NYC location near my workplace. my favorite is the classic Red Velvet Cupcake. frosting is just-sweet-enough and cream-cheese-y, just the way i like it. the cake part is MOIST (you love that word, c'mon!) and super delicate and yummy.

they package the cupcakes up for you and have cute options like candles, message cards, stickers, etc. i like their overall collateral design and their interior decor as well. this is a company i fully support! now, Cupcake ATM anytime soon, Sprinkles!?!?!

Oh Sprinkles, you changed my mind about cupcakes and I thought I would be forever Jaded after the NYC Cupcake Boom. I loved the property, it was adorable, quirky, and just small enough to have that "I found a Gem" feeling.

I had a strawberry cupcake that was light and sweet and I brought home a marshmallow cupcake to share. The marshmallow was not my favorite so check out a different flavor when you stop by.
