Desigual on West 34th Street

Posted on 17:49 by Unknown
This store is obviously aimed at young, hip shoppers amongst the chaos of West 34th Street going towards the Empire State Building from Herald Square.

Has balloons up--is it a brand new store? If there are no reviews, I will take those from the other  Desigual Store in the area...

A lot of raves but also some real put downs...I suppose you already know if you would want to bother going shopping here or not

Good selection of Desigual clothing considering the small store.  Great colors and good quality.

Got a great dress here on sale for 77 percent off!!! That's nice because the stuff seems a little overpriced anyway, but I am just a fashion-challenged tourist, so who knows what things cost in Manhattan?

Really cute, colorful clothes.  Good quality, great staff.  Not every style fits every body.  You have to try a few things on to find the one that is right for you.

This remains my favorite shop to visit when I am in New York.  Probably because it's a Spanish store with only a few outlets in the US.  The only east coast outlets are in Manhattan and a (shhhh, don't tell anyone) outlet store in (someplace called) Bergen, NJ.

I am a little embarrassed that one of the other US outlets is at the Mall of America, and another one is in Dallas.  But they've got shops in Santa Monica, Beverly Hills and San Francisco.  Plus three in Miami and one in the DR!!  So, yeah, they're cool.

This store is right by the hotel that we were staying at and I just love the flamboyant colors. The staff are very ecclectic and thoroughly enjoy their jobs. They are very trendy and its a great place to go to find one signature piece. I found a very nice T-shirt on sale for $40. I will definitely visit them again on my next trip.

The clothing is a "unique" riot of color and pattern. If this is your thing, then this is your store.

The clothing is decently made, expensive and oddly shaped (for my figure, at least).

The staff is nice, if a bit indifferent. Though I'd take indifference any day over the Hovering Salesperson who absolutely needs to show you every single new piece in the Spring 2011 collection.

This review is not about fabric, style or price, Desigual range is there to see, to buy (on-line too, I think), to like or to hate.

The point here is that here I've had one of the best shopping experiences EVER. The staff wad friendly, knowledgeable, smart and sales-savvy (if I made the word up, you got what I meant), even the security guy smiled and was articulated about greeting me in and out (and it was 30' before closing time). I was helped by Jamie and I was blown away by her incredible professionally. Next time I'm looking around for a treat for my wardrobe, this store will be at the top of the list.

I like clothes with bright colors and interesting patterns, but not five or six of these different, colorful patterns put into one article of clothing. Desigual's clothes and accessories are just that. The colors and patterns are fun, but there is just too much mixed together, that it's a little ridiculous, and at times, childish.

The security guard actually greeted me, which rarely happens. The workers were friendly and made it clear that they would be more than happy to help, but Desigual is just not for me.

My favorite part of Desigual is the mural they have on the outside of the building. It's colorful and pretty!

ok I must admit - I was sucked in with the free tote.

Colors are great as are designs.  My only complaint is that there's not much there.  If I had to guess, there were:

    10 styles of dresses
    10 shirts
    1 pair of pants
    20 handbags/wallets etc.

I would have purchased if they had more of a selection :(

I've been shopping here since it opened and OH MY GOD I LOOOVE THIS STORE! The clothes are SO beautiful and EXCELLENTLY made. Half my wardrobe are clothes from this store. I always get compliments on the pieces I wear from Desigual, be it a bag or one of their stunning coats! :D

I have their store card and save a good deal since I shop there often, and with it, you even get freebies( like stylish over- the- ear headphones) and invites to special events at the stores ( they are ALWAYS having parties :) )

I highly recommend to all you fashionistas out there. Don't come in broke though, it's pricey BUT SOOO WORTH IT!

    :D Happy shopping!

Beautiful original designs with out of budget price. There were a couple of items on "sale", still not worth the price for Ed Hardy look-alikes

Not for me. It reminded me a little of Custo Barcelona except not as cool or nice. Just too over the top in color mixes. No cool designs or patterns. Prices seemed high for the quality.
