I got a great deal on this hotel for a 4 night stay in February.
The room was perfect for me, clean, with a spectacular view of the Empire State Building.  The location was ideal, just a block from the Subway, which allowed be to go anywhere in the city I wanted.
They offer the standard continental breakfast - danishes, cereal, bagels, fruit and coffee.  Nothing great but it's nice to have if you want something fast on your way to explore the city.
I would definitely stay here again.

I stayed here for 4 nights during a business trip.  It is located in the heart of Koreatown, with several Korean restaurants and karaoke lounges within walking distance.  There's also a cool sake bar called Kirakuya right next door.  It's in a good location, and it's very easy to get a taxi right in front of the hotel no matter what time of the day.
I was very satisfied with my room and customer service.  The room was spacious, clean, bathroom was big enough, had a nice view of the Empire State Building (forgot to mention this landmark is only a 5 min walk away), and the TV had 4 Showtime channels.  The hallways are narrow so it's the distance between the elevator and rooms is short.  The gym on the 3rd floor was decent, and the continental breakfast was good enough (no hot foods - just cereal, pastries, and fruits).
My only knock on this place is it has 2 elevators.  During busy times (5-7pm), you may be waiting awhile for the elevator.

One of the better deals I found when looking for accommodations in NY.

Room was small, but had a nice flatscreen TV. The comp buffet was not very good, would suggest grabbing breakfast elsewhere if you want more flavor.

Free wifi worked okay, the view I had was an alleyway. AC was nice to come back to after a hot/humid/dirty day wandering the streets of NY.

Located in the middle of Koreatown, one block from the empire state building, two blocks from Penn station and Madison Square Garden.

First time staying at a Hotel in NY. Great place in the middle of Korea town, so tons of places for Korean BBQ and other Korean food if your into that kind of stuff. Right down the street from the Empire State Buidling, Madison Sq Garden, Pen Station, and just a couple blocks away from Times Sq. They have free continental breakfast which wasnt that great but hey its free. Also hit the gym they have which was ok. Overall cool place, great location and nice staff. If im ever looking for a hotel in NY this is gna be at the top of my list.

Okay, really can't say much bad as all others have said, its up to date clean, great location all that good stuff..........but!
1 The blanket is a comforter ( and that as we all know can be nasty and usaly ditched) and filled with a material that really keeps you HOT so you have to freeze the room. Spent half the fricking night at 200.00 to get comfortable. Then you get up and freeze.......not very green of you guys.....wasteful and you should warn us......no sleep!
    2. If your a guy and want to sit on the pot to do some business....... Well the water is so high and or the toilet is so low configured that your.......well.......lets just say its not cool it's cold in the wrong place....sucks!  Fix that stuff and you have a winner.

Great location, fast easy check in, you can leave your bags when you check out and pick up later when you are ready to leave city, rooms are clean, comfy bed, extra blankets upon request, the view of the back of the empire state building was almost too close. Hotel is short distance to subway, tons of restaurants, CVS, Starbucks. Hotel is in Korea town, excellent food, concierge very helpful giving you exact directions to any destination on your NY experience.

Solid Choice in Midtown (3.5 Stars--an extra .5 star for value)

    Pros:
    1.  Convenient (Subways, many lines, are a block to two a way)
    2.  Clean
    3.  Includes breakfast--bagels, fruit and coffee were pretty good
    4.  Very good French/Korean bakery (Paris Baguette) right next door
    5.  Price-Value

    Cons:
    1.  Slow elevators...people aren't kidding about this...you need to factor them into your planning if you need to be somewhere "on time."
    2.  Interior is a little run-down.  Cleanliness wins out for me, so for the price it doesn't bother me too much.
    3.  Eating area gets PACKED. (at least the food is decent, included, and you can take it back to your room (though it may get cold during the elevator ride:))

If you have studied design - you would appreciate the diversity that each hotels accommodate their structure to their surroundings.

Red Roof Inn in Texas literally has a Red Roof~but the NYC location doesn't have that and the interior does not really have a country feel to it compared to the one in Texas.

I love this location - Korean Town is always bustling, so my friend and I felt safe staying here.

Not bad, I wouldn't mind staying here again.  Located right in the middle of Korea town so there are plenty of interesting places nearby to eat.  The rooms in most NYC hotels are small, so when you open the door you might trip over the bed, which I guess is good because thats why you are there to begin with right?

Not as nice as most NYC hotels I have had, but pretty good for a Red Roof Inn.

    Staff wasn't that great.
    Clean.
    Recently Updated.
    Comfortable Beds.
    Big TV's
I had a great view of the Empire State Building.
    Reasonably Priced.

    HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

My boyfriend and I stayed at nyma for three nights from Thursday - Sunday in December the week before Christmas. After a red eye flight out of SFO we arrived at the hotel around 9am and left our bags in their storage since it was too early to check in. To kill time we helped ourselves to breakfast and hung out on the mezzanine level where there are some tables and couches, a coffee machine, and a couple TVs.

On the second floor you'll find a small cafeteria with a free continental breakfast served until 10am, which includes bananas, apples, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, pastries, cereal, toast, bagels, coffee and juice. The cafeteria can get crowded, but there is another room located across the hall with a few additional tables -- I feel like not too many people knew about this. We got away with arriving at 930am or even 945am, and the food was still pretty well-stocked. Other than the crowd, I had no problems with the breakfast. After all, its FREE!

They checked us in early at about 1pm (check in time is 3pm). Our room was right by the elevators on the 11th floor -- very clean and we had a view of the Empire State building. Highlights include the flat screen TV, free wifi (was a bit slow), and the iPod dock. It didn't get too cold in the evening, though we did make use of the heater, which kept at a soft hum throughout the night, but it didn't bug us.

The location of the hotel was perfect. Right smack dab in the middle of Koreatown, we were a half a block away from the subway, within walking distance of Shake Shack @ Madison Square Park, Bon Chon Korean Fried Chicken, tons of shopping, and Madison Square Garden. Try Miss Korea next door for some yummy Korean BBQ. We were also a 10-15 minute walk from Times Square, and a 5-10 min train ride to SoHo, Brooklyn Bridge, and Central Park.

Cons? The employees at the front desk could have been more pleasant, and we had to wait a while to get our bags out of storage after we checked in.

For a "budget boutique" as a previous reviewer had called it, we were very happy with our stay at nyma. For those who are looking for reasonably priced, safe, comfy accommodations  in NY, this your place.

Great location!  In walking distance of the Empire State Building, Union Square, etc.

I stayed in 3rd floor room with a king bed that had a flat panel TV. I did wake up a few times very early morning because of trash trucks (I think). The bed was okay (nothing special) and temprature controls were adequate (I stayed during a warm spell in October - the air conditioning came in handy!)

Free wireless internet in all the rooms, continental breakfast in the mornings (along with yogurt in the little fridge, they also have cans of Red Bull!).

The only downside was that the lobby vaguely smelled like a sewer, but not in my room (whew!).
